Hi all,
I’m excited to see you all soon! I wanted to send a quick update so you know what to expect at my office when you are here in the coming weeks. Since my last message to you all, Governor Inslee released updated requirements for re-opening businesses . Based on these guidelines, and to keep your kids as safe as possible, here’s what things will look like at my office:
LIMITED VISITORS: As I said in my previous message, if your child is okay coming into therapy without you, that would be great. I realize that doesn’t work for all kids, and if that’s the case, one adult is invited to join, but I ask that adults wear a mask in the building. No siblings please. I will meet you at your car at the start of therapy. If available, park in the spot right in front of my window/door so I can easily see that you’ve arrived, and so I can come grab you during the session if your child needs to use the restroom (for the little ones at least).
HEALTH and FEVER SCREENING: Health and fever screenings (touch-less forehead thermometer) are required for anyone entering the building prior to the start of each appointment. Please do not come for therapy if you or anyone in your family have a cough, shortness of breath, fever or any other illness symptoms. The current recommended fever threshold is 100.4. If you or your child has a fever, I will not be able to keep your appointment that day.
MASKS: All adults who do join for therapy are asked to wear a mask when inside the building. I will also be wearing a mask.
CLEANING: All toys, surfaces, and high touch areas will be sanitized before each session. I have left 15 minutes between sessions so I have time to do this well. This is why I ask you to wait in your car for me to come get you, I want to make sure everything is as clean as possible before each appointment. You will notice a change to my office set-up to optimize cleaning (no soft surfaces in the main therapy area, limited toys out, toys that cannot be cleaned easily are put away). Kids will also be asked to remove shoes and sanitize their hands when they arrive.
Thank you all for your cooperation. Information and guidelines for dealing with Coronavirus are changing quickly so it’s likely this plan will evolve, and I’ll keep you updated as things change. I’m looking forward to seeing you all soon!
Julie
